Unified Field is an unfolding and opening process of becoming and in concert with one’s true nature. It is nurturing and observing the coming and going of embodied presence. This body of work reflects a sense of being one with the natural world, in a state of wonder, gesture/movement, aliveness and being with all that is. Unified Field is painting and making as a ritual for dissolving the story and being with the true essence of who belongs to and is of nature.
Tricia Opstad is an artist who lives and works in Missoula, Montana. Tricia’s work is phenomenological and expansive in nature. Phenomenology says our very existence is established and maintained through mutual and inseparable relationship with the natural world; a direct conscious felt experience. Tricia pulls from her skills and training as a dancer using embodiment and somatic practices in her work. She responds from sensation, emotion, movement, and desire in combination with crafted techniques in composition and style. Tricia makes visual art, sound art/noise, video and dance performance. Tricia curates and shows work at the artist-run gallery, Office Temple, in downtown Missoula. Tricia holds a Masters of Art of Integrated Arts in Education (2008) and a Masters of Science in Speech Language Pathology (2011).
