Destination Missoula/TBID developed a 32 question online survey for residents to help identify local sentiment regarding tourism in Missoula from May 5th-June 8th 2026. The 2026 survey is a follow-up to the same resident sentiment survey conducted in 2023. The results show that Missoulians are overwhelmingly pleased with Missoula as a place to live and have pride in their community, ranking both markers higher than the 2023 survey. More than 1,500 Missoula residents responded to the survey. The Institute of Tourism and Recreation Research at the University of Montana helped analyze the following results.
